HP DeskJet 2910 Driver lets the computer recognize the printer and send jobs over USB or a wireless network. The same software link is needed when using the built-in scanner from a computer. Copying takes place at the printer, but installed software helps keep its print and scan functions available to the operating system. A correct setup prevents missing-device errors and keeps commands moving to the intended hardware.

HP DeskJet 2910 combines thermal inkjet printing with flatbed scanning and copying. It has no fax hardware. Black and color output come from two cartridges, and a small icon LCD sits beside seven physical buttons. Scanning relies on a contact image sensor beneath the platen. Each original must be placed on the flatbed by hand because no automatic document feeder is fitted.
Black documents run at up to 7.5 ISO pages per minute, and color pages reach 5.5 ISO pages per minute. Best black output is rendered at 1200 x 1200 dpi. On selected photo paper, optimized color resolution can rise to 4800 x 1200 dpi. The flatbed scans at up to 1200 dpi across a 216 x 297 mm area. Copy resolution is 300 x 300 dpi, with up to nine copies available from one original.
Paper loads through a 60-sheet input tray, while the output tray holds 25 printed sheets. A4, B5, and A6 paper fit the feed, along with DL envelopes. Custom sheets can range from 76 x 127 mm to 215 x 355 mm. Photo stock, brochure sheets, cards, and other inkjet media use the same tray. Automatic duplexing is not built in, so two-sided pages must be turned manually. Borderless printing is also unavailable.
A nearby computer can connect through Hi-Speed USB 2.0. Wireless jobs travel over either a 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz Wi-Fi network. Phones and tablets can print through the HP app, Apple AirPrint, Mopria Print Service, or HP Print Service Plugin. HP lists a monthly duty cycle of up to 1,000 pages but recommends 50 to 100 pages. With the trays closed, the body measures 425 x 304 x 154 mm and weighs about 3.42 kg. Power use drops from 2.55 watts in ready mode to 1.31 watts during sleep and 0.10 watt when switched off.
