HP DeskJet 2922 Driver links the computer with the printer for print and scan tasks. A nearby computer can use USB, or jobs can travel over the wireless network. Scanning depends on compatible software installed on the computer. Copies start from the printer controls and do not require an active computer connection.

HP DeskJet 2922 combines inkjet printing with flatbed scanning and basic copying. Printing comes from HP Thermal Inkjet hardware using two cartridges, one black and one tri-color. The CIS flatbed scans a single original up to 216 x 297 mm, so multi-page originals need manual placement. A small icon LCD shows status prompts. Fax hardware and an automatic document feeder are not built into this model.
Black ISO pages print at up to 7.5 ppm, and color ISO output reaches up to 5.5 ppm. Draft mode moves faster, reaching 20 ppm in black and 16 ppm in color when speed matters more than final quality. Best black output reaches 1200 x 1200 rendered dpi. Color photos can use optimized output up to 4800 x 1200 dpi on selected HP photo paper. The scanner reads at up to 1200 dpi, and the copier can produce as many as nine copies from one original.
Paper loads from a 60-sheet rear input tray, with finished pages landing in a 25-sheet output tray. That capacity suits short home documents better than long unattended print runs. Standard paper sizes include A4, B5, and A6, and the feed also takes DL envelopes. Custom sheets may run from 76 x 127 mm up to 215 x 355 mm. Plain paper, photo paper, brochures, envelopes, and other inkjet media can pass through the same feed. Two-sided printing is manual, and borderless output is not available.
A nearby computer can use the Hi-Speed USB 2.0 device port. Wireless printing runs over dual-band Wi-Fi, with both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz networks listed for this model. Phone and tablet printing works through the HP app, Apple AirPrint, Mopria Print Service, or the HP Print Service Plugin. With the trays closed, the body measures about 425 x 304 x 154 mm. Opening the output extension stretches the footprint to roughly 425 x 546.6 x 250 mm, and the printer weighs about 3.42 kg.
