HP DeskJet 4330 is a colour thermal inkjet all-in-one for printing, scanning, and copying. Two cartridges supply the ink: a separate black cartridge and one tri-colour cartridge. HP lists the 308 series as the replacement supply for this regional version. Scanning relies on a CIS flatbed and a 35-sheet automatic document feeder, so multi-page originals do not need to be placed on the glass individually. An icon LCD provides basic status and menu feedback. Internal memory combines 64 MB DDR1 with 24 MB of flash storage.

Black documents can reach 1200 x 1200 rendered dpi. Colour output rises to 4800 x 1200 optimized dpi when selected HP photo paper is used. ISO speeds are 8.5 pages per minute in black and 5.5 pages per minute in colour, which suits short home document runs rather than heavy office queues. Draft mode increases the rate to 20 black pages or 16 colour pages per minute. The first black page takes about 15 seconds, with colour requiring around 20 seconds. Automatic duplex hardware is not fitted, so each sheet must be turned by hand for printing on the reverse side.

Paper loads into a 60-sheet input tray, but the output tray holds only 25 sheets. Longer jobs may therefore need their finished pages removed before the input tray is empty. Common sizes include A4, B5, and A6, along with DL envelopes. Custom sheets can range from 76 x 127 mm to 215 x 355 mm. Plain and photo paper use the same feed. Brochure stock, envelopes, and compatible specialty inkjet sheets can also be loaded, although borderless printing is not available.

The flatbed scans at up to 1200 dpi optically and accepts originals as large as 216 x 297 mm. Longer pages can pass through the document feeder, which takes sheets up to 215.9 x 355.6 mm. A nearby computer can connect through Hi-Speed USB 2.0. For wireless jobs, the printer can join either the 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz band through 802.11a/b/g/n Wi-Fi. Ethernet wiring and fax hardware are not fitted. With the trays closed, the body measures 428 x 332 x 200 mm and weighs about 4.81 kg.
