Brother HL-L2461DW Driver lets the computer send print jobs correctly to this monochrome laser printer. The Brother HL-L2461DW is a printer-only model, so its software setup is limited to printing rather than scanning, copying, or faxing. After installation, print commands can travel through the available wired or wireless connection. Proper driver support also helps the computer read printer status and process page output consistently.

The Brother HL-L2461DW is built only for monochrome laser printing. It has no scanner, copier, fax, or automatic document feeder hardware, so every task reaches the machine as a print job. Inside, a monochrome laser engine works with 64 MB of memory and a separate toner supply. A two-line LCD gives menu and status details in 16 characters. The body measures 356 mm wide, 360 mm deep, and 183 mm high.
Print resolution reaches up to 1200 x 1200 dpi. On single-sided jobs, the engine prints at up to 34 pages per minute on A4 and 36 pages per minute on Letter. From ready mode, the first sheet comes out in less than eight and a half seconds. Automatic duplex printing works with plain, thin, and recycled paper, with A4 listed as the two-sided paper size in this specification.
Paper feeds from a 250-sheet tray rated for 80 gsm plain paper. For single sheets or envelopes, the manual feed slot takes one item at a time. Standard page sizes cover A4, Letter, Legal, Folio, Executive, A5, A6, B5, B6, and 16K. For envelopes, the listed sizes are COM-10, DL, C5, and Monarch. Finished pages collect in the face-down output area, which holds up to 150 sheets, or through the rear path as one face-up sheet.
A nearby computer can use the Hi-Speed USB 2.0 port for a direct connection. Wireless printing runs through IEEE 802.11b/g/n networking. Wi-Fi Direct uses IEEE 802.11g/n for a direct device-to-printer link. Brother Mobile Connect, Apple AirPrint, and Mopria Print work when the printer and mobile device use a compatible network. Power use is about 43 W in ready mode, about 3.8 W in sleep mode, and about 0.08 W when powered off.
