Brother HL-L1230W Driver helps the computer communicate correctly with this monochrome laser printer. The hardware is built for printing only, so setup does not involve scanning, copying, or fax tasks. After the computer recognizes the printer, print jobs can move through its supported connection. Correct driver support keeps page output, command transfer, and device response consistent.

The Brother HL-L1230W is a print-only monochrome laser printer built around an electrophotographic laser engine. Its controller carries 64 MB of standard memory, while the hardware stays limited to black document printing. Because there is no scanner, copier, fax unit, or automatic document feeder, originals do not pass through any capture path. Power input is specified at 220 to 240 V AC, 50/60 Hz.
Print quality reaches up to 2400 x 600 dpi with Brother’s HQ1200 technology. Single-sided output runs at up to 20 pages per minute on A4 paper and up to 21 pages per minute on Letter. From ready mode and the standard tray, the first page comes out in less than 10 seconds at 23 °C, although wireless connection conditions may slow output slightly.
Paper enters through one standard tray that holds up to 150 sheets of 80 g/m² plain paper. The feed is for plain or recycled sheets. It accepts A4, Letter, Legal, Folio, A5, A5 long-edge, B5 JIS, B5 ISO, Executive, and 16K. Supported paper weight runs from 65 to 105 g/m². Printed pages collect face down, with the output tray taking up to 50 sheets.
A nearby computer can connect through a USB Type-B port using USB 2.0 Hi-Speed, and Brother specifies a cable length of no more than 2 metres for direct local setup. Wireless networking works through IEEE 802.11a/b/g/n in infrastructure mode, while Wireless Direct uses IEEE 802.11a/g/n across supported bands. The body measures 340 x 189 x 238 mm, has no wired LAN interface, and weighs 4.6 kg with supplies.
