This device is a right all-in-one printer with the ability to print, scan, copy, send and receive a fax. It is also well suitable for mobile printing, and there is no limitation of the types of devices it can connect with either through the USB or the wireless connection. The dimensions of the printer are 454 x 503 x 193 mm (WDH). This size makes it a nice looking medium-sized printer.

The printer works by a thermal Inkjet technology with a PCL3 GUI print language and a monthly duty cycle of 1000 pages. The print speed for color documents is 21 pages per minute (ppm) while for black text is 22 ppm. The best color resolution for the output is 4800 x 1200 dpi while for monochrome is 1200 x 1200 dpi.

Connectivity

The connectivity options include the standard Hi-speed USB connection through the USB port, using a USB cable. Coupled with that are Wireless connectivity and a Wireless direct connection. The Wi-Fi uses an 802.11 b/g/n. Finally, the printer has a memory card slot through which a memory card can work, and the file due for printing can be located through the printer and sent for printing.

Copy Specifications

The copy function of this printer covers for both black and color documents. Up to 50 sheets of plain paper are possible for a copy on this device at once at a speed of 21 pages per minute (ppm) for monochrome and 19 ppm for colored. You can reduce the size of the output document by up to 25% and enlarge up to 400%.

Environmental Specification

The relative humidity range for this printer when in operation is between 20 to 80%. But while in storage, a 10 to 90% non-condensing relative humidity is a strong recommendation. The operational temperature range is 5 to 350C while in storage room should be between -40 to 600C. The printer can save up to 50% of your paper with the automatic duplex printing that allows printing on the two sides of the article. Fax Specifications

The fax transmission speed is at 33.6 Kbps for fast mode, 14.4 kbps for standard method and 9.6 kbps for a slow way. The resolution for sending and receiving fax messages is at 300 x 311 dpi. It has an auto redial, remote retrieval and distinctive ring detection functions. It supports a PC interface, and you can send up to 100 Letter-sized sheets of fax messages. The fax function supports speed dials with up to 99 different numbers and enables sorting out complicated pages or even higher resolutions.

Cartridges

The HP SureSupply technology allows you to receive alerts about the status of your cartridges, especially when there is a need to replace. More so, it helps you make a better decision on whether to get the replacement from a local store or order it online through the internet.
The replacement cartridges include HP 62 Black Ink Cartridge (printing up to 200 pages), HP 62 tri-color ink cartridge (up to 165 pages), HP 62 XL Black Ink cartridge (up to 600 pages) and finally the HP 62 XL tri-color ink cartridge with a capacity for up to 415 pages. These parameters show a pair of cartridges where one is the black ink cartridge and the other is the tri-color cartridge enabled for cyan, magenta and yellow.

Mobile Printing Specifications

Mobile printing function is workable with this device with the aid of features such as Wi-Fi Direct printing and local Wi-Fi connectivity. These are possible through the HP ePrint and Apple AirPrint, coupled with the Mopria enabled printing. The supported mobile devices may come in a wide range of operating systems ranging from OS X Lion, OS X Mountain Lion, and Apple devices on iOS 4.2 or late versions, iPads, iPhones, iPod touch and other tablets.
The wireless operations are compatible with 2.4 GHz routers only that excludes the direct wireless connection.

Paper handling

The supported media sizes include US Standards of Letter, Legal, and Envelopes. There are three trays, the main tray, the supporting secondary tray, and the output tray. The input tray takes up to 125 sheets of plain paper, while the supplementary tray holds only 15 sheets and the output tray can take 25 sheets. The media sizes in metric measurements are A4, A5, B5, B6, weighing between 16 to 72 lbs. The printer works with an automatic document feeder (ADF) and a duplex printing ability to help it print conveniently on both sides of the paper.
