The printer works with a Thermal Inkjet technology with a PCL3 GUI print language. The monthly duty cycle is up to 1000 pages. The color print speed is up to 21 ppm while for black is 22 ppm. The print quality for black is 1200 x 1200 dpi while for color is 4800 x 1200 dpi optimized color when printing on an HP photo paper.

This ability makes it possible to connect diverse mobile devices with various operating systems including Apple iOS, Windows 8, Windows RT, and Blackberry. The Apple AirPrint also supports OS X Lion, OS X Mountain Lion, iOS 4.2 and other later versions.

Paper Handling

Paper sizes supported by this printer for optimum printing quality include A4, A5, B5, B6 and well as those of US standards such as US Letter, Legal and Envelopes the media weight should be between 16 to 72 lbs with an automatic duplex option for this printing. The standard input capacity for the main tray is up to 125 sheets while the secondary plate takes up to 15 sheets of plain paper. The output tray capacity is just 25 sheets of plain paper. The automatic document feeder ADF is enabled for this printer.
