The HP Envy is a portable all-in-one device that can print, copy and scan. It works with the HP Thermal Inkjet technology. The physical dimensions are 454 x 503 x 161 mm (WDH).

There are three options for connectivity with the HP ENVY 5642. The Hi-speed USB 2.0 port that requires a USB cable, a Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Wireless direct printing, and a memory card slot. Two-sided copy function

The device has automatic duplex printing that makes it print on both sides of the paper automatically.

Copy Specifications

The copy speed for a colored document is up to 19 copies per minute (CPM) while for black, it is 21 cpm. In other words, the printer can work out copies of both black and color documents. The maximum number of physical copies obtainable at once is 50 copies. A size reduction on the output document up to 25% is possible, and the output document can also be enlarged to up to 400%. The copy function can also work for both sides of the paper. Various other settings work with the copy function including brightness adjustment to make it darker or lighter, margin shift, and other enhancements.

Energy and Environmental specifications

A non-condensing storage relative humidity of 10 to 90% but in operation, the permitted relative humidity is between 20 – 80%. The operating temperature range is 50 to 350C, whereas, in storage, the temperature should be between -400 to 600. The technology of this printer permits paper saving of up to 50% automatic two-sided printing plus a hi-class cartridge recycling already in 48 countries of the world.

Cartridges

There are two cartridges in this printer. One is the black cartridge and the other is a tri-color cartridge that can print in cyan, magenta, and yellow. A unique feature of printing with this device is the HP SureSupply alerts that tell you the level of your printer cartridge and when it is time to replace it. It also assists you to either buy it online or get it from the local stores.

The replacement cartridge types include

HP 62 Ink black (approximately 200 pages) and tri-color cartridge (with a capacity for about 165 pages)
HP 62 XL black (almost 600 pages) and tri-color ink cartridge (approximately 415 pages capacity)

Mobile Printing

A characteristic feature is the Direct Wi-Fi connection that enables mobile printing through apps such as HP ePrint, Apple AirPrint, and Mopria print. Whether the device works with iOS, Android, Blackberry, Windows 10, or Windows RT, mobile printing is compatible with printing through Wi-Fi.

Paper Handling Specifications

The input capacity for the printer is up to 125 sheets in the main tray while the supplementary plate can take up to 15 sheets of plain paper. The output capacity of the device is up to 25 sheets. The several paper sizes supported include A4, A5, B5, B6, DL with a weight range between 16 and 72 lbs. By US standards, the various types include US Letter, Legal, envelopes, etc.

Power Options
