Custom sheets can range from 76 x 127 to 215 x 355 mm, using plain, photo, brochure, or specialty inkjet paper. Two-sided pages require manual turning, and borderless output is not available.

A nearby computer can connect through Hi-Speed USB 2.0. Wireless jobs travel over either a 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz Wi-Fi network. Phones and tablets can send pages through the HP app, Apple AirPrint, Mopria Print Service, or HP Print Service Plugin. With the trays closed, the body measures 425 x 304 x 154 mm and weighs about 3.42 kg. Opening the printer for use increases its depth and height to 546.6 mm and 250 mm. HP recommends a monthly volume of 50 to 100 pages, which places it closer to light home use than sustained office printing.
