The HP PSC 1312 driver supported versions of Windows include Windows 98, Windows 98 SE, Windows Me, Windows 2000 and XP. The first three requires an Intel Pentium II or Celeron or any other compatible processor plus 128 MB of RAM. The available hard disk space must be up to 950 MB, except in Japan where users need 1.2 GB. There must also be an extra 50 MB free hard disk space for full-color scanning.

Specifications

For systems that run on Windows 2000 and Windows XP, the required processor is also an Intel Pentium II or Celeron. The Internal memory, RAM should be up to 128 MB with a hard disk space of 1.1 GB. There is an exception for Japan users though who need 1.4 GB. There is also an additional 50 MB needful for full-color scanning. The monitor size is 800 x 600 monitor with 16-bit color depth. It supports Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.01 or higher versions for all versions of Windows.

Mac system versions that are compatible with this printer HP PSC 1312 driver includes OS 9.1. X, Mac OS X 10.1.x or higher, and 10.2.x. Others include Mac OS 10.2.3 or higher and Mac OS 10.3.x. or higher versions.

The minimum processor is a G3 or higher processor and a 128 MB of RAM for all versions of Mac. HP recommends a G4 processor or higher. The minimum free hard disk space for OS 9 plus an additional 50 MB free for full-color scanning. For OS X, 100 MB free hard disk space is needful plus an additional 50 MB for full-color scanning. OS 9.1, 10.1 or higher versions require a hard disk space of 400 MB (600 MB for Japan only).

The minimum monitor resolution is 800 x 600 display with 16-bit color depth, but HP recommends 1024 x 768.

Other requirements include internet access, a sound card and installed Adobe Acrobat Reader 4.0 or later versions.

Printing Specifications

The printing mode works on a drop-on-demand Thermal Inkjet Technology with the Lightweight Imaging Device Interface Language (LIDIL). The print speed varies by the model of the printer in use and by the complexity of the document. For instance, print speed is up to 17 ppm (black) and 12 ppm (color) at Fast Mode. The print resolution is usually up o 4800 x 1200 optimized dpi color with 1200 input dpi.

Connectivity

The standard means of connectivity to this printer is through the Hi-speed USB 2.0 port that is also compatible with 1.1. HP recommends a print cable that is of 3m (10 feet) or less in length to minimize injected noise. The printer has an inbuilt PictBridge that allows connecting a camera directly for printing photos.
