As a HP Deskjet printer, it uses the drop on demand thermal inkjet print technology with PCL3 GUI device language.

The print speed reaches 20 and 16 pages per minute (ppm) for black printing at draft and ISO modes. On the other hand, the color page print speed is up to 16 and 4 ppm for both methods, respectively. At the same time, the first page prints out as fast as 17 seconds for black and 24 seconds for color. The optimum duty cycle for this printer model is up to 1000 pages per month. The print rates differ, however, from the copy speed, which as 4.5 CPM and 3.0 CPM for black and color. The scanning resolution is up to 1200 x 1200 optical PPI with 24-bit color.
