Brother DCP-T230 is an ink-tank multifunction inkjet for printing, scanning, and copying. A piezo print head produces output through 210 mono nozzles and 70 nozzles for each colour channel. Inside the body, 64 MB of memory handles basic printer processing. Button operation and status LEDs manage local control instead of a touchscreen. Separate front refill tanks take black, cyan, magenta, and yellow ink bottles for the four-colour system.
From Windows, print resolution reaches up to 1200 × 6000 dpi when best mode uses glossy photo paper. The flatbed accepts originals up to 215.9 × 297 mm. Optical scan resolution reaches 1200 × 2400 dpi. Through TWAIN, interpolation can reach 19200 × 19200 dpi. Copy output goes up to 1200 × 1800 dpi. Copy reduction and enlargement run from 25% to 400%, with stacks up to 99 pages.
Paper feeds from a 150-sheet front tray. The manual feed slot accepts one sheet at a time outside the main tray. Both feed paths take plain, inkjet, glossy, and recycled paper. Page sizes include A4, Letter, Legal, India Legal, Folio, Executive, B5, A5, B6, and A6. Envelopes, photo sheets, and index cards also fit the paper path. Printed pages collect in a 50-sheet output area. Borderless printing is limited to A4, Letter, A6, Photo, Photo L, Photo 2L, and index card sizes.
A nearby computer can connect through Hi-Speed USB 2.0 with a Type A/B cable no longer than 2 m. This model leaves out Wireless LAN, Ethernet, and fax hardware, so network printing requires a host computer. The body measures 390 mm wide, 343 mm deep, and 148.5 mm high.
