The Sharp MX-C401 model is a digital full-color printer with its unique model number and an electrophotographic laser system. It also has a liquid crystal display (LCD) screen that is up to 4.3 inches in diagonal size. The machine also uses the photoconductive type is the OPC drum with a heat roller of the fusion system. In terms of the developer system, there is a dry-type two-component magnetic brush development. Also, there is a printing resolution of 600 x 600 dots per inch (dpi), while the maximum is 1200 x 1200 dpi.

The printing gradation is equivalent to 256 levels with compatible printer drivers, including PCL5c, PCL6, postscript three consistent, and XPS. Sharp MX-C401 also has an internal standard system memory of 1 GB at its maximum capacity. When one switches on the printer, it takes about 90 seconds or less to warm up and be ready to print.
The first printout time when printing in color is as fast as 8.9 seconds or even less. Whereas, the black and white print time takes about 8.0 seconds or even less. Similarly, the paper tray capacities of this machine, the main input tray can hold up to 500 sheets of plain paper. These papers should have a weight range between 16 lbs and 28 lbs. Also, the Sharp company recommends plain paper, recycled paper, as well as colored paper.
On the other hand, the bypass tray can hold up to 100 sheets by its standard capacity. Whereas, this tray supports the use of recycled paper, plain paper, colored paper, heavy paper, thin paper, transparency film, and envelopes. This machine also has a duplex module that allows printing on both sides of the page.
