The media handling specifications also include an input tray that can accommodate 250 sheets of plain paper. Also, there is a manual tray that takes one sheet of paper at a time. On the other hand, the output tray will conveniently take 80 sheets of printed paper in a face-down pattern. The printer can work with various versions of operating systems such as Mac, Linux, and Microsoft Windows. The list of compatible versions includes Apple Mac OS X 10.4 to 10.6, Windows 2000, 7. Server 2003, server 2008, vista, and XP.
Users can also bear in mind that this machine is a personal printer and, therefore, has limited document size. For instance, the maximum H-document size is 8.5 inches, while the V-document size is 14 inches. Its supported media types include cotton paper, envelopes, labels, plain paper, recycled thin paper, and transparencies. In the printer package, there is also a single toner cartridge that prints only in black.
The machine comes with an internal processor with a clock speed of 300 MHz and an installed memory of 8 MB. This memory, however, is non-expandable but is sufficient for the printer work. The maximum print resolution of the Samsung ML-2546 model is 1200 dots per inch (dpi). When this printer is in full operation, it produces a noise level that reaches 53 dBA.
