When the HP Deskjet 3054A driver is on systems with Microsoft Windows, the functioning depends on the version of Windows it is. For instance, the recommended processor type/speed for Windows 10, 7 and Vista to install HP Deskjet 3054A driver successfully is 1.5 GHz 32/64-bit. Whereas, the same printer software will install on Windows 8 with only 1 GHz (32-bit or 64-bit). Also, on Windows XP (Service pack 2) with Intel Pentium III or higher processor.
Similarly, the RAM requirement for the smooth functioning of the printer software depends on its capacity. Microsoft Windows 10, Windows 8 and Windows 7 require a 2 GB RAM whereas Windows Vista is a 1 GB RAM. To use Windows XP means your RAM is at least 128 MB but 512 MB is the recommended capacity.

The printer functions with a drop-on-demand Thermal Inkjet technology. This principle requires Ink cartridges, and the type of cartridges depend on the areas or regions. For example, in North America, the Asia Pacific and Japan, HP 61 black and tricolor is installed. Whereas in Western Europe, it requires an HP 301 black and tricolor. In Africa, Middle East, Latin America, and CIS, it needs an HP 122 black and tricolor. Finally, in China, India, and Indonesia, the acceptable cartridge is the HP 802 black and tri-color Ink cartridges.
The printer functions well in media handling. There are two trays, one for input paper loading and the other as output tray after printing. The input tray can take up to 50 sheets of plain paper whereas the output tray can only take 30 sheets. Apart from plain paper, other supported media sizes are envelopes, index cards, photopapers, etc. These can come in both standards and customized sizes. US letter, Legal, Executive, Cabinet, Mutsugiri, Ofuku hagaki, Statement, A4, A5, A6, B5, and B6 are a few of the supported sizes.
Depending on the complexity of the document to be printed, the printer works at different speed. However, at the highest resolution of 4800 dpi, the printer speed is at 20 pages per minute (ppm). But for colored pages, the rate is 16 ppm after the first page.
The printer can copy appropriately with a digital image processing. The copy resolution, however, depends on the complexity of the document.
The scanning resolution is up to an optical 1200 x 1200 resolution at a depth of 24-bit color and 8-bit grayscale. Precisely, when using Windows device, you can scan both pages of the document.
In India and China, the power demand is 200 to 240 V AC at a frequency of 50/60Hz. For other countries though, the power input voltage is at 100 to 240 Volts at 50/60 Hz frequency.
1. No Ethernet connectivity
2. Not capable of sending or receiving faxes
3. Relatively low input and output tray
