Epson Expression Home XP-442 is a multifunctional device that can print, copy, and scan documents at an exceptional quality level. It runs on the Epson Micro Piezo print head technology, which holds up to 180 nozzles for black printing.

It also has up to 59 nozzles for color printing and a minimum ink droplet size of 3 picolitres (pl) with a variable-sized droplet technology. This ink technology comprises the Claria home ink type. It can produce a maximum printing resolution of 5760 x 1440 dots per inch (dpi).

According to the ISO/IEC 24734 standard, the print rate is up to 10 pages per minute (ppm) for black and white documents. On the other hand, color printing in the same model has a rate of 4.5 ppm. However, at the normal mode, printing black and white documents run at 33 ppm for plain papers with an average weight of 75 gsm. On the other hand, color printing at the same mode has a rate of 15 ppm under ideal conditions.

This machine uses the contact image sensor (CIS) scanner producing high-end yield as a scanner. The Epson Expression Home XP-442 device’s optical resolution is about 1200 x 2400 dots per inch (dpi) for horizontal and vertical dimensions. A4 black documents scan at the rate of 2.4 milliseconds per line in speed, while A4 color documents scan 9.5 milliseconds per line. This machine also has a single tray with which it supplies the needed paper load.

This tray can hold up to 100 sheets of plain paper or 20 sheets of photo paper sheets. Some of the standard paper sizes that are usable in the device include A4, A5, A6, B5, C6, DL envelopes, letter, legal, and photo paper sizes.
