The maximum black and white resolution are about 600 dots per inch (dpi), while the color resolution is 2400 x 1200 dpi. It follows a straight media path for paper supply and output and can hold 100 sheets of paper. Also, the minimum RAM size is about 128 MB, while the hard disk drive space is 100 MB.

Canon PIXMA S520 model supports Apple MacOS 8.6 or later, Apple MacOS 9.x, and Apple macOS X versions. On the flip side, the machine supports Microsoft Windows 2000, NT 4.0, 95, 98, Me, XP Home Edition, and XP Professional.
