The cartridge type is the FINE print head with a minimum ink droplet size of 1 picolitre (pl). The cartridges also contain the ChromaLife100 ink type to ensure the maintenance of high quality. Monochrome or black printing runs at the rate of 15.0 images per minute (ipm) under normal circumstances. However, the color documents print at 10.0 ipm under the same conditions. Photo print speed for the borderless mode is approximately 21 seconds per page.
This machine supports borderless printing on A4, letter, and photo paper sizes. Besides, there is also an auto-duplex printing mode for A4, A5, B5, plain letter papers. The direct disc printing requires an installed software before the user can produce optimum quality. Standard cartridge options include PGI-570PGBK, and CLI-571BK/C/M/Y/GY models. On the other hand, specific cartridge models are optional and yield more than the standard ones.
Such optional models include PGI-570PGBK XL, CLI-571BK XL, CLI-571C XL, CLI-571M XL, CLI-571Y XL, and CLI-571GY XL models. Furthermore, each of these cartridge models has different capacities of print. This model has a lower cassette that can hold up to 125 sheets of plain paper. On the other hand, the upper will accommodate 20 sheets of photo paper. Besides, the direct disc print tray also exists, which can print one printable CD, DVD, or Blu-Ray Disc.
