The HP Smart Tank 215 is a print-only colour ink-tank printer using HP Thermal Inkjet technology. Its refillable system holds black, cyan, magenta, and yellow ink from separate bottles. Basic status information appears on a 1.1-inch icon LCD with 21 segments. The printer also carries 64 MB of internal memory.

ISO speed reaches up to 12 ppm in black and 5 ppm in colour. Draft printing is faster, rising to 22 ppm for black pages and 16 ppm for colour. Black output can reach 1200 x 1200 rendered dpi.
