The compatible printer drivers are Windows PCL 5 discrete, Mac PS, Windows UPD, Linux, UNIX, and SAP. In terms of the print quality, the average is up to 1200 x 1200 optimized dpi from 600 x 600 dpi. These resolutions apply to the use of HP premium-inkjet presentation paper-matte and even unspecified plain papers. However, this machine can reach a maximum resolution of 2400 x 1200 optimized dpi. Its display screen is a color graphics display (CGD) with an IR touchscreen.

The speed of the processor is about 1.5 GHz, while it uses four cartridges for cyan, yellow, magenta, and black colors. Each of these cartridges has replacement models that employable when any of them run out. At the same time, the print languages include HP PCL XL, PCL 5, native PDF, HP postscript level 3 emulation. It also has an automatic paper sensor that enhances the smoothness of paper pick up during printing. Also, the feature prevents paper jams in this machine in all the printing modes.

Mobile printing works well with Apple AirPrint, Mopria certification, HP ePrint, WiFi Direct printing, and Google Cloud Print services. Also, there is a wireless component present with 802.11 b/g/n dual-band. The optional connectivity is through the HP JetDirect 2900nw print server J8031A.
