HP Color LaserJet Enterprise M856x printer model is a print-only device with measured speed according to the ISO/IEC 24734 standard. However, this measurement excludes the first set of test documents. The machine’s precise work speed depends on the system configuration, software application driver, and document complexity. Its display component includes 4.3 inches (about 10.92 cm) in a color graphics display (CGD) with a touchscreen that can rotate. It also comprises an internal processor with a speed of 1.2 GHz and a standard internal memory of up to 1.5 GB of RAM.

The compatible print languages include HP PCL 6, HP PCL 5, Google Cloud Print, Apple AirPrint, native PDF printing, and HP postscript level 3 emulation. It also contains an automatic paper sensor that ensures precise paper picking technology. The machine has five standard paper trays but a maximum of 6. Its mobile printing features include the HP ePrint, Apple AirPrint, ROAM capability for easy printing, Mopria certification, and Google Cloud Print feature.
