At the normal mode, Canon PIXMA S820D print in color and black at 2.4 ppm and 3.5 ppm speeds, respectively. Whereas, in the draft mode, color and black printing are both running 4 ppm rate. The printer displays its status through a liquid crystal display (screen) as a built-in device. But the user interface for connection is through a wired technology of USB 2.0 port.

Canon PIXMA S820D model has a Microfine Droplet Technology for its image enhancement technology. Then, the paper holding capacity of the device is about 100 sheets of plain paper in the input tray. This machine is a photo printer with a maximum H-document size of 8.5 inches and a V-document size of 23 inches. In terms of the printer resolution, the device supports a maximum reach of 2400 x 1200 dots per inch (dpi).
