Canon PIXMA MX374 model can print at a horizontal resolution of up to 4800 x 1200 dots per inch (dpi). The working of the machine works through its compatible 2 FINE cartridges and 4-color system. Its minimum ink droplet size is about two picolitres (pl), having a ChromaLife100 ink system. The photo lab quality speed on borderless mode is about 46 seconds per page through standard means. Monochrome printing is at a rate of 8.7 images per minute (ipm).

Color printing is at the rate of 5.0 ipm through standard protocols of optimum performance. The compatible cartridges with this device include PG-440 and CL-441 models and some optional types. Besides, the optional cartridge types include PG-440XL and CL-441Xl models with a higher yield of production. Canon PIXMA MX374 is compatible with media types such as plain, photo paper pro platinum, photo paper plus glossy. Other media types include glossy photo paper and matte photo paper.
At the same time, the maximum media input load is up to 100 sheets of plain paper. In terms of the media sizes, it can work with A4, A5, B5, letter, legal, envelopes, and photo sizes. But the media weight is between 64 and 105 gsm for plain paper at normal print mode. Faxing with the Canon PIXMA MX374 model is through the standalone component with the fax modem of Windows-based systems. Color is faxing runs in the usual manner with the same average speed of 33.6 kbps.
The compression method supports MH, MR, MMR formats for monochrome, and JPEG for color faxing. It can also run memory transmission through its internal storage with a resolution of 200 x 200dpi for photo faxing. This faxing memory can store up to 50 pages of plain paper.
