The Canon PIXMA i9100 print model is a personal printer with a thermal inkjet print technology of the Canon brand. Its internal power supply can take an average voltage of 120 volts with a maximum power usage of 24 watts. The speed of the print work depends on the model of the printer then. For instance, at the black fast mode, printing runs at six pages per minute (ppm). But in the usual way, the rate is 5.7 ppm for printing in black.

When the machine is working on a mixture of text and color graphics in fast mode, the rate is six ppm. The same condition in the usual way will print at a speed of 4.2 ppm. However, photo printing on an A4 is up to 1 ppm, but 3.95 x 5.9 inches photo size runs at 2.1 ppm. The connectivity of the machine includes a process through the use of a USB 2.0 high-speed port. The image enhancement technology is also the Microfine Droplet Technology suitable for personal printers.

The supported media types include transparent films, plain paper, photo paper, matte photo paper, envelopes, and iron-on transfers. Other compatible examples include glossy photo paper and a high-resolution paper. In terms of the fit media sizes, it supports A3, A4, A5, B4, the letter A size, legal, ledger B size. Apart from the standard sizes, the machine is also compatible with custom sizes. But the total media capacity of the device is up to 100 sheets.

When this printer is at the standby mode, the power usage is about 3 watts. But in full operation, the machine uses approximately 24 watts of power. The printer consumables include different colors of ink cartridges, including black, cyan, magenta, yellow, photo magenta, and photo cyan colors. These cartridges are replaceable on exhaustion.
