Its piezo printhead has 420 nozzles for black and the same count for each colour channel, backed by 512 MB of memory. A 3.5-inch colour touchscreen sits on the control panel for local operation. The 50-sheet automatic document feeder can process originals on both sides, so duplex scans do not need to be turned over by hand.

Black and colour documents print at up to 30 images per minute, with resolution reaching 1200 × 4800 dpi. Automatic duplex printing remains available up to A3 when compatible plain paper is loaded. Borderless output is more selective, covering A3, Ledger, A4, Letter, A6, and supported photo sizes. The scanner records up to 1200 × 2400 dpi from the glass, but feeder scans top out at 600 × 600 dpi. Copies can be reduced or enlarged from 25% to 400%.

Three 250-sheet cassettes hold 750 sheets before the multipurpose feed is counted. That rear tray takes another 100 sheets of plain paper and is also used for envelopes or coated stock. Glossy sheets and smaller photo paper go there as well. For banners or other long output, one sheet up to 1200 mm can pass through the same feed. The output tray holds 100 A4 or Letter pages, dropping to 50 when larger sheets are used.

A nearby computer can connect over Hi-Speed USB 2.0, while Ethernet provides a wired network route. Wireless jobs can travel over either Wi-Fi band or directly through Wi-Fi Direct. NFC is available for compatible devices. The front USB host port can print JPEG and PDF files from a flash drive, and scans can be saved back to it. The machine weighs 27.5 kg.
