The supported OS versions of Windows by this printer include Windows XP (32-bit and 64-bit, Professional and Home Editions). Others are Microsoft Windows 2000 and Windows Vista. The required processor for Windows 2000 and Windows XP (64-bit) is an Intel Pentium II or Celeron processor. The recommended processor, however, is an Intel Pentium III or higher processor. The minimum memory the system must have is 128 MB of RAM while the manufacturer recommends 256 MB. Before running the software at all, at least a minimum free disk space on your system must be 280 MB. However, the manufacturer recommends an open hard disk space of 400 MB. In addition to this space must be another free 50 MB for full-color scanning. The printer running on a Windows OS supports Internet Explorer 6.0 or later.

The video display must be on an SVGA monitor of resolution 800 x 600 with 16-bit or higher.

The HP Officejet Pro L7480 driver supports operating system versions of Mac OS X 10.3.9 or higher versions. The required processor should be at least 333 MHz and the RAM size being 128 MB. The recommended RAM size, however, is 256 MB. The minimum free hard disk space you should have before running the software at all is 100 MB or 200 MB (recommended). The video display from a Mac system requires a monitor of 800 x 600, 16-bit depth.

Connectivity

The primary connectivity is through the hi-speed Universal Serial Bus (USB) 2.0 front and backports. The ports also support USB lower versions.

Paper Handling Specifications

This different printer supports a variety of media types and sizes. Some of them are Plain papers, Transparencies, Cards, Photopapers, Labels, etc. The input tray of this HP Officejet Pro L7480 printer can hold up to 250 sheets of paper while the other media sizes take lesser than that. There is a second Input tray that can also be usable with paper for printing. This second tray can hold up to 350 sheets of plain paper. However, the output tray of this printer produces 150 sheets of paper at once. Take note however that the capacity of the output tray is dependent on the type of paper used and the amount of ink expended. Therefore, the manufacturer recommends that the user often removes the contents of the output tray.

Printing Specifications

The print method of this device is the drop-on-demand Thermal Inkjet technology with the PCL3 enhanced language. The print speed is generally 20 pages per minute (ppm) after the first page. This speed, however, is for black prints. For colored prints, the rate is 13 ppm after the first page. These speeds also mostly dependent on the complexity of the document to be printed. The resolution of printing is usually up to 1200 dpi with pigmented black ink. For color resolution, it can be up to 4800 x 1200 dpi when optimized on HP Premium Plus Photo papers.
