System Specifications

The supported operating systems include Windows 98, Windows 98 SE, Windows Millennium Edition (Me), Windows 2000, and Windows XP. All of these versions require at least an Intel Pentium (R) II, Celeron or compatible processor, a 64 MB RAM, a minimum free disk space of 300 MB with an additional 50 MB for saved images. In addition to these, an SVGA monitor of 800 x 600 with 16-bit color. Moreover, the software to be installed will installed through CD-ROM drive or the internet.

However, the recommended system requirements include an Intel Pentium III or any equivalent processor, a 128 MB RAM, a sound card and mobile internet access.

Supported browsers include Internet Explorer 5.0 or a higher version.

For Macintosh systems, the supported versions include the Mac OS X v9.1, Mac OS X v10.1, 10.2 and Mac OS X v10.3 or later versions. Generally, the minimum system requirements for Mac OS X v9.1 are a G3 processor or higher, a 64 MB RAM (but 128 MB is recommended). The free hard disk space available should be 200 MB plus a 50 MB for saving full-color scanned images. The monitor screen should have a resolution of 800 x 600 dpi and a 256-color depth display.

Whereas, for Mac OS X v10.1, OS v10.2, and OS X v10.3, the processor must be a G3, with a 128 MB RAM (but 256 MB is recommended). Also, 100 MB free disk space must be available plus a 50 MB for full-color scanning. The USB port is available for direct connection. The monitor screen resolution should be at 800 x 600 dpi, and 256-color depth display.

Printer Speed and Resolution

The print speed for black and color pages runs at 12 pages per minute for black and 10 ppm for color, which can print in cyan, magenta and yellow. That speed is for the fast print mode. The print resolution for best black print mode is 600 x 600 dpi at a rate of 4.7 ppm and a 1200 x 1200 dpi or 4800 x 1200 dpi at a speed of 3.1 ppm for color. The normal mode for black print is 6.5 ppm at a resolution of 600 x 600 dpi and 600 x 300 dpi for color prints at a speed of 5.0 ppm.

Copy Specifications

The copy feature works with a digital image processing principle. The maximum copies you can make is 99 copies from an original. The document can be reduced to 25% or enlarged to 200%, depending on the model in the series. The text also has a function of fit to page, poster printing and the ability to produce multiple images on just one page.
The copy speed for the best mode is 3.5 ppm for black and 1.0 ppm for color. For Normal mode, the rate is 8 ppm for black and 5.0 for a color print copy. In the Fast way, the black text is at the speed of 11.3 ppm, and the color print is at the rate of 8.0 ppm.

Scanning Specifications

The scanning resolution is 600 x 1200 dpi optical mode, although this depends on the computer specifications. This scan mode is at a 24-bit color depth using 32-bit hardware and 8-bit grayscale. It also has the particular HP Photo view Centre Software, the ReadIris Pro OCR software, all for maximum high-quality output. The scanner can also work with a TWAIN scanning compatibility and a scanner bulb that can take up to five or more years under normal usage.

Fax specifications

This product has some exciting features including a walk-up color faxing, five one-touch speed dial buttons. In addition to these, a ring detect function is also present with automatic fax answering machine.
